THE DIAGONAL

Continuous flow

An insurmountable rule: never leaving the rhythm.

The uninterrupted linking of movements, the ginga that never stops, defence and preparation and bond with the music all at once. There is no pause, no reset, no neutral stance to return to. And this is no aesthetic preference but an insurmountable rule: the player who falls out of rhythm loses the round. Rhythm acts at once as a constraint, as a condition of victory, and as the implicit regulation that modulates the form of the game and the degree of the players' engagement.

IN THE SYSTEM

→ Positive imbalance, The flight, overturning oneself on purpose.

→ Touch / near-touch, Breaking the other's harmony, not knocking him out.

→ Rhythm, The tempo that modulates every other parameter of the game.

IN THE CORPUS

→ Winning by Falling, Touching Without Touching
